ABOUT THE LEAGUE
The Walkden and District Tennis League was originally formed in 1921.
Matches are played on Wednesday evenings.
The season starts in April and ends in August.
The format is: Each team has 8 players, 2 men’s pairs and 2 Ladies pairs.
Each pair play 2 sets up to 8.
The first pair to reach 8 games wins the set.
The men’s pairs play the opposing men’s pairs, and the ladies pairs, play the opposing ladies pairs.
The match result is calculated by the number of games won by each team at the end of the evening.
