Sadly Marjorie died, just 3 days short of her 99th birthday.

She was only ill for a couple of weeks, and until then she was still walking around the garden at Abbeyfield, doing crosswords, and voicing her opinions on a variety of subjects. Certainly, a life well-lived.

Luckily she did not go into hospital but died in her own home with her grandaughter Louisa with her. It was said to be heart failure.

Marjorie was an excellent tennis player and represented the Walkden league in inter-league matches, and was still playing well into her eighties.

Marjorie will be very sadly missed by all her tennis friends.
